Chinese Whispers!!!!!

One day when I was with a group of friends
Tired of gossip and discussing trends-
We were deciding on a game to play
"Chinese whispers!!!" When one did say.

I was asked to pass the first whisper
'The ladder is long' came out in a spur.
As my simple phrase kept passing,though,
Giggle increased and procession slowed!

When my words came back to me,
Why the giggles I could see!!
With every person in the chain
The phrase was rephrased again and again!!

What's ironic is we play this game everyday;
Misunderstanding what others may say
Still rephrasing and passing it on....
Till so exaggerated ones simple words become!!!!
