The fierce creature,

Exhaling fire.. 

Monstrous, violent..

Its uncontrollable temperament!

A mythical monster

Product of illusion and wonder.. 

The unruly dragon, 

In tales written...

Such mysterious beasts reside.. 

Unruly, dreaded.. Caged inside

Within me! Emerging unwarned

Often creating such chaos and scorn! 

I attempt so very hard

To keep my dragons at guard,

Pretend the monster in me is mythical too

Until it unleashes out of the blue!!!!
